No, I'm not ignoring the blog(s), I'm just busy. I got a new job (which I start tomorrow) and a new kitten (pictures coming soon). Before all that I was a counselor at our church's youth camp and then I had to deal with the cold/sinus infection I caught at camp. All in all things have been rather crazy and I doubt that will ease up anytime soon. Don't worry, I'll keep in touch. (Hopefully.)
Whew, was starting to think I'd have to drive my butt down there and chain you to your desk until you at least said hi :p.
New job, huh? You've been a "housewife" the whole time I've known you, right? Do tell about this job of yours. Part time? Full time? Do you get to play SIMS while there? lol
Sorry you were sick :(. I had my first ever sinus infection back in autumn, I do NOT envy you!

i don't know if this will help at all, but my cholesterol actually went DOWN when I went on the Atkins diet. Crazy, I know, since there was cholesterol in everything I ate. Also my blood sugar went way, way down to such a low level they thought I was technically hypoglycemic.
The Atkins diet is supposed to lower cholesterol because 80% of serum cholesterol is manufactured by the liver. That's why genetics plays such a big role; if your liver is hard-wired to generate a lot fo cholesterol it doesn't matter what you do with your diet & exercise, you'll still have high serum cholesterol.
According to Dr. Atkins, the liver generates more cholesterol in response to high blood sugar. So it's actually the simple carbs that are to blame for much of your serum cholesterol.
So, when I was on Atkins and eating tons of cream cheese, mayonnaise, other cheeses, and eggs (I'm a vegetarian so couldn't eat any meat and so ate basically cheese and eggs for a year on Atkins) my cholesterol went way down from what it had been on my normal high-carb vegetarian diet.
If you're like me, though, Atkins is hard to sustain in the long run. It's not giving up sugar that's hard -- it's the pasta, which to your pancreas is pretty much the same as sugar.
